From Fear to Care
Safe Snatch is a humane bug catcher designed to protect both the user and bug. The magnifying glass is to show people that insects need not be feared so fiercely. With an adjustable length handle users can reach hard to reach areas and the swivel body allows for comfortable use on walls, ceilings and floors.
Safe Snatch was designed as a team alongside Kelsie Tong and Alexandria Miller.
Problem
Insects play a crucial role in our ecosystem. They pollinate plants, break down waste and thoroughly support our biodiversity.
However, many people feel uncomfortable having them in their homes. Traditional insect removal methods such as pesticides, or lethal traps can harm both insect populations and the environment.
Solution
Safe Snatch is a tool that allows users to safely trap insects without direct contact. This product is designed to be gentile, simple and effective. We wanted to educate users to treat insects with respect, especially in our shared environments like our homes.
